
Patrick Barney is the editor-in-chief of Actual Left, as well as Actual Left’s former iteration, Xi Draconis Books. He has published prose and poetry in Shadowbox Magazine, Phoebe Journal, Antipodes, Flights, and others. His novella, Misfit the Wanderer, was published in 2019 by Xi Draconis Books and is reprinted here at Actual Left. He has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and an MA in Professional Writing from the University of Cincinnati. He identifies as an anarchist-communist and enjoys the works of Homer, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, Anne BrontĂ«, Thomas Hardy, Pyotr Kropotkin, John Steinbeck, George Orwell, Albert Camus, Cormac McCarthy, and Russell Banks, among others. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and three kids.
